NOVA Addiction Movie

Screening of the film Addiction, a documentary from its nationally acclaimed science series NOVA, about the deadliest drug epidemic in US history.

Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 6:30 PM – 8 PM

In 2017 alone, approximately 70,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, fueled by easy access to drugs such as heroin, fentanyl, and even prescription medications like OxyContin. Now, science is revealing how addiction affects the brain and top experts are gathering evidence about how we should address our drug problem, from embracing evidence-based treatments, to rethinking public policies. With vivid case studies and insights into the latest scientific breakthroughs, NOVA unravels the complex and tragic puzzle of how addiction works, and how it can be beaten.

The movie will be shown at the Framingham Public Library, Main Branch in the Costin Room. Refreshments to be served. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the film will begin at 6:45 p.m.
