The Kristina Raben Memorial Fund has been established to help individuals who struggle with substance use disorder of any kind, and who live in the Greater MetroWest Area.
Kristina died at the age of 43 of an accidental overdose on May 15, 2023, after many years of struggling with addiction. Although she had years of sobriety, in the end, the battle of addiction was just too big. Sadly, this is not an uncommon story for those with substance use disorder.
In spite of her challenges, Kristina managed to have magical moments with beloved friends and family members. Her list of qualities and talents was endless. She was hilarious; she had an infectious, hardy laugh, that often ended in a shriek. She was musically talented and could play the piano, guitar, and clarinet by ear. She was a gifted poet and prolific writer. Among her greatest talents was her artistic ability. She once drew a series of incrementally crushed Coca-Cola cans that looked exactly like a photograph. Additionally, she was an athlete, having played soccer competitively for 12 years, and loved every minute with her team out on the field.
She was heavily involved in the recovery community, helping others by providing transportation to meetings, presenting at Learn To Cope, SMOC’s OUI driving classes, and AA’s outreach commitments. She had a huge heart, believed everyone deserved a chance at Life, and she never stopped fighting.
Your donation will ensure that Kristina’s legacy of love, support, and helping others will live on. These funds will go directly to those struggling with or in recovery from substance use disorder. The mission of the Kristina Raben Memorial Fund aligns perfectly with the mission of Framingham Force. The organization has generously assisted us in setting up this fund to maximize positive impacts on people’s lives.
