Framingham FORCE Is Officially A Nonprofit
To celebrate, the organization is launching a donation challenge with an anonymous sponsor agreeing to match donations made.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A local organization, Framingham FORCE (Fostering Opioid Recovery, Compassion and Education), has officially been named a nonprofit. Framingham FORCE is a group of local Framingham advocates and community members focused on increasing awareness, education and compassion surrounding the opioid epidemic.
“I am thrilled we have received our 501(c)3 status, which helps us obtain the resources we need to combat our opioid epidemic through compassion, education, and advocacy,” said Cathy Miles, Board Chair.
Framingham FORCE was incorporated as an independent Massachusetts nonprofit organization early in 2019, governed by a 9-member board of directors with expertise in marketing, fundraising and financial management, as well as the many facets of the opioid crisis.
In celebration and recognition of its charitable status, FORCE was approached by an anonymous donor with a donation challenge. For every donation received between now and June 30, it will be matched by this donor, up to a total of $1000. Upon success of this challenge, FORCE will receive these funds.
All gifts received during this challenge period, and beyond, will support future Framingham FORCE June events focused on recovery, and reducing stigma, including a Recovery Garden of turquoise flags, and Narcan training at MetroFest, as well as a September Celebration of Recovery to coincide with Recovery Month.

Additionally, Framingham FORCE has a new look and logo, designed by Lisa Thompson, of Lisa Thompson Graphic Design and a new website designed by Board Member Mary Kate Feeney of Dockside Media.
“Our new logo aligns with one of our beliefs: As a result of scientific research, we know that addiction is a disease that affects the brain and causes changes in behavior,” said Miles. “Our new website gives people another way to interact with FORCE, to learn who we are and how they can get involved. We are so excited by the progress we have made since starting last fall.”
FORCE has hosted several events in the city since its inception, including a community vigil in December to mourn the victims of substance misuse. Co-Founder Cathy Miles was also recognized at this year’s Salute to Framingham.
